Chemical Laboratory Technician, department for powder pigment mixtures

I knew that I didn’t want to study at university when I was at school, and that I’d rather do something practical straight away.

When I decided on an apprenticeship as a Chemical Laboratory Technician, I quickly realized that only a limited number of apprenticeships were available for this occupation in our region. After having a look around, I eventually found a vacancy at Farbenwerke Wunsiedel GmbH and was invited to start my 3.5 years apprenticeship there as a Chemical Laboratory Technician on 01.09.2011. I spent most of my initial working time helping with the development of the powder mixtures. As part of my apprenticeship, I spent a long time preparing powder mixtures and also got an insight into the internal processes in the other departments. After my apprenticeship, I worked in the department for the development of powder mixtures and in the preparation of powder mixtures, as both departments required personnel. Over the years, however, I have become increasingly established in the development of new products.

This field is very varied, because the range of applications by our customers is very big and you have to take a fresh look at things with each product development.“

My longstanding experience and hard work contribute to the growth of the company, and the rapid changes in the raw material market consistently brings me new knowledge that also helps me to grow. Outside work I love crime fiction, and this has also helped me to rise to challenges in a relaxed way and work out solutions quickly. In this respect, the goal-oriented clarification of a problem is my everyday motivation. It’ll be a long time before I tire of working here!
